Instructors Training CourseCourse outline for the one day Abrasive wheels (Con-saws, grinders) training program for all operators.

 

The course is especially designed for all operators who wish to apply for assessment.

 

 

 On completion of this course trainees:

 

1. To understand the nature of the hazard and identify the causes.

2. To identify and understand requirements and responsibilities under the current legislation and know where to get guidance.

3. To understand the characteristics of abrasive wheels and their action.

4. To understand and interpret the marking system of abrasive wheels.

5. To recognise the needs for careful handling of abrasive wheels and carry out visual checks and ring tests.

6. To understand and identify what speeds should be adhered to in wheel selection.

7. To identify main components and understand their functions.

8. To mount an abrasive wheel.

9. To understand the difference between truing and dressing a wheel, undertake dressing a wheel and identify dressers. To adjust work correctly.

10. To use operating precautions and be aware of avoiding hazardous conditions.

11. To demonstrate their knowledge on abrasive wheels.

 

Requirements:

Safety Boots, High Visibility Vest, Hardhat and must have a good understanding of English or be accompanied by an interpreter.
